Seit 1987 ist die Gemeinde Wersau\u00a0 eine der insgesamt sechs Gemeinden in unserem Umkreis, die das Gl\u00fcck haben, eine Partnergemeinde\u00a0 einmal rund um die Welt zu haben, die Moravian Church\u00a0 Cap Town District 3 in Landsdown. Seit \u00fcber 25 Jahren werden nun entstandene Freundschaften und Kontakte gepflegt. Es ist f\u00fcr alle immer etwas ganz Besonderes, wenn Delegationen\u00a0beider Gemeinden sich gegenseitig besuchen und bewegende Gottesdienste zusammen abgehalten werden. Alle 2 Jahre reist eine Delegationsgruppe von Lansdowne zu uns und eine Gruppe von uns zu unseren Freunden nach Lansdowne, wo diese freundlichst empfangen und erwartet werden. So kam es schon einmal vor, dass uns ein Gospelchor oder im Weihnachtsgottesdienst\u00a0 ein Trompetensolo begeisterte. Wir hoffen auf weitere wunderbare Jahre als Partnergemeinde und eines steht fest: Langweilig wird es nie!<\/p>\n
Dank Kurt Kreuzer haben wir in Wersau auch immer noch einen engeren Kontakt nach Lansdowne und bleiben auf dem Laufenden. Und soerreichten uns auch dieses Jahr Nachrichten und Gr\u00fc\u00dfe aus unserer Partnergemeinde. Hier ist einer der Briefe an uns:<\/p>\n
Dear Kurt, Ingrid and the members of the Wersau congregation<\/p>\n
Thank you for the beautiful Christmas wishes. Yes 2020 has been a very difficult year. Yet we have the eternal\u00a0hope that all things will be made new. I greet you all with the New Testament reading for Christmas Day: See – I am bringing you very good news of great joy for all the people: to you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, who is the Messiah, the Lord. Luke 2: 10 -11. While Covid-19 has created havoc with our lives we do not lose hope. The Messiah\u00a0is born and we will follow\u00a0Him triumphantly.<\/p>\n
We are also experiencing the second wave of infections. And recently our scientists have discovered that it is a new strain of virus. This time around many more people, and especially young people have become infected. We will still have our Christmas service but strict protocols\u00a0are observed. Only 100 people can attend and we need to wear masks, maintain social distancing and have our hands sanitised. For the next four Sundays we will also not have services in our Church.<\/p>\n
Wersau and the whole of Germany are in our prayers. As a family we are aware of the challenges you are going through since our own children and grandchildren are in Gorlitz. Thandie had to be isolated after one of the learners in the kindergarten was tested positive. This is a clear sign that we all need to be very careful during this second wave of the pandemic.<\/p>\n
